Can you 3D print a GLB file?

Not directly. Slicers usually expect STL, 3MF or OBJ. Convert your GLB to STL, check that the model is solid, then slice it. MeshShot can download a GLB as STL with Pro.

How to prepare a GLB for printing

  1. Open the MeshShot web app and import your .glb.
  2. Use the 3D model download and choose STL (a Pro feature).
  3. Open the STL in your slicer and check the model is watertight, meaning it has no holes.
  4. Scale it to the size you want and slice.

STL carries only the shape, so colours and textures from the GLB are dropped. For a multi-colour print you would need to set up the colours again in your slicer.

Good to know: Models made for screens are often thin or open. Printing needs real thickness, so some models need repair first.

Questions

Does STL keep the colours?

No. STL has no colour information.

Can I print OBJ instead?

Many slicers accept OBJ too.
