Convert a GLB to an animated GIF

Open MeshShot, drop in your .glb, pick a turntable camera move and export as GIF. It runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer. GIF export is a Pro feature; PNG stills and sequences are free.

  • Files never uploaded
  • Free to start

How to do it

  1. Open the MeshShot web app and drag your .glb file onto the canvas.
  2. Choose a canvas ratio (1:1 for social, 16:9 for web) and set a light and background.
  3. Pick a one-click camera sequence such as the 360° turntable so the loop ends where it starts.
  4. Open Export, choose GIF and download. Transparent backgrounds are kept.

GIF is still the format that plays everywhere without a video player: email, Notion, GitHub and most chat apps. A GLB turntable is a good fit because the camera orbits a fixed point at constant speed and returns to its start, which gives a loop with no visible jump.

Good to know: GIFs are limited to 256 colours, so gradients can band. If the model has soft shading, export MP4 or WebM instead and keep the GIF for places that need it.

Questions

Is the GLB uploaded to a server?

No. The file is read from your disk and rendered on your own GPU, so it stays private.

Is GIF export free?

GIF is part of Pro. The free plan exports PNG stills and PNG sequences.

Can the GIF have a transparent background?

Yes. MeshShot exports GIFs with real transparency.
