Animate an SVG logo in 3D

Drop an SVG into MeshShot and it extrudes into a 3D object that keeps its fill colours. Light it, add a camera move and export. Free for stills; video and GIF need Pro.

How to do it

  1. Export your logo from your design tool as .svg (convert text to outlines first).
  2. Open the MeshShot web app and drop the SVG in.
  3. Adjust depth, material and lighting.
  4. Add a camera sequence and export.

A flat logo with a little depth and a moving highlight looks much more finished than the same logo spinning flat. Each colour in the SVG becomes its own surface, so multi-colour logos keep their palette.

Good to know: Simple shapes extrude best. Very fine strokes or gradients can look rough, so simplify the artwork if the result is noisy.

Questions

Do I need to outline my text?

Yes. Convert text to outlines in your design tool before exporting the SVG.

Can I do this inside Figma?

Yes. The MeshShot plugin turns a selected vector layer into 3D.
