Can GLB files be animated?
Yes. A GLB can contain animation data stored inside the file, and any GLB can also be animated from the outside by moving the camera around it. MeshShot does the second kind.

The two kinds of animation
- Built-in animation: the file itself holds keyframes, for example a character walking or a lid opening. This is created in the 3D tool that made the model.
- Camera animation: the model stays still while the camera orbits or moves in. This works on any GLB, including ones with no animation.
For product shots, camera animation is usually what you want. A turntable or slow push-in is quick to set up and loops cleanly. MeshShot lets you add camera moves on a timeline and export them as a GIF or video.
Good to know: If you need a character or mechanism to move, animate it in a 3D tool first and export the GLB with the animation included.
