How to add 3D text to Figma

Figma cannot make 3D text by itself. Install the MeshShot plugin, type your words, light them and drop the render onto your frame.

  • Runs in your browser
  • Files never uploaded
  • Free to start

How to do it

  1. Install MeshShot: 3D to Figma.
  2. Run it from Plugins in your file and choose 3D text.
  3. Type the text and pick a material and light.
  4. Place the result on the canvas.

Text is real geometry in the plugin, so edges catch the light correctly. That is the difference between 3D lettering and a flat text with a drop shadow.

Good to know: You can also select a vector layer and turn it into a 3D object.
