Does Figma support GLB and 3D models?
Not natively. Figma has no built-in way to open or display GLB, glTF, OBJ or FBX files. You can use a plugin such as MeshShot to import the model and place a render on the canvas.

How to use a 3D model in Figma
- Install MeshShot: 3D to Figma from Figma Community.
- Run it from Plugins and import your
.glb,.gltf,.objor.fbx. - Frame the model, set the lighting, and place a render on your frame.
Figma is a vector and layout tool, so it treats 3D files as unknown. Dragging a GLB onto the canvas does nothing useful. The usual workaround is to render an image in another tool and import it, which is slow when you want to try a different angle.
Good to know: If your model is very heavy, use the web app and bring the exported image into Figma.
Questions
Can Figma open a glTF or GLB file?
No, not on its own. A plugin is needed.
Can I move the 3D model around inside Figma?
Inside the plugin you can rotate and light it. On the canvas it becomes an image, GIF or video.
Is the plugin free?
It is free to install. Pro adds video and GIF output.
