What opens a GLB file?
You need a 3D viewer or editor. Blender opens GLB files, and so do browser-based tools such as the MeshShot web app, where you can view, light and export one without installing anything.
- Runs in your browser
- Files never uploaded
- Free to start
Ways to open a GLB
- In the browser: drop it into the MeshShot web app. Nothing is installed or uploaded.
- In Figma: use the MeshShot plugin to import it and place a render on your canvas.
- In a 3D editor: Blender is free and opens GLB files. It has a steeper learning curve.
GLB is a 3D format, so the photo viewer on your computer will not show it. If you only need to look at the model or make a picture or clip of it, a browser tool is the quickest route.
Good to know: If the model appears blank, try a different viewer. The file may use features that one tool does not support.
Questions
Can I convert it to an image?
Yes. Export a PNG still, which is free, or a GIF or video with Pro.
Is there a GLB viewer for phones?
Browser-based viewers work on phones, though heavy models may be slow.
